Chinni-ka-rauza |

Chinni-ka-rauza is a tomb situated alongside with Itmad-ud-daulah on the bank of Yamuna at a distance of 1 Km towards north. This tomb is dedicated to Allama Afzel Khal Mullah Shukrullah of Shiraz who was a Persian poet and scholar and used to write poetry with pseudonym of 'Allami'. He was also made Prime Minister of the court during the reign of Shah Jehan.
It was noted that this mausoleum was constructed by Afzel Khal himself in 1939. He chooses glazed tiles (chinni) to construct the monument and hence the name Chinni-ka-rauza was given. The whole monument is constructed with architectural blend of Persian and Mughal style.
Chinni-ka-rauza is witnessing wear and tear as it ages and is gradually loosing its charm in each passing day. Even then, parts of the walls are still covered with coloured enamel tiles and some Islamic inscriptions and paintings are clearly seen on the domed ceiling of the monument. This monument may be in dilapidated condition but the architectural magnificence is worth seeing and appreciating.
