Appu Ghar is the first amusement park in India and is located in Pragati Maidan which is a famous destination for International Trade Fair and a centre for various educational, jobs and business promotion. Appu Ghar was inaugurated on 19th November, 1984 by then Prime Minister Sh. Rajiv Gandhi in memory of his late mother and Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi.
Spread over an area of 15.5 acres of land, Appu Ghar is a perfect place for recreation for growing kids to an adult. This park has 22 exciting playing items that include roller coaster, swings, cable car, speeding cup and others. The recent attraction of the park is the introduction of OYSTERS in a massive area of 4 acres. This water park blanketed with ice offers ice boating, ice bowling and skiing. Enjoying various ice games here would be unique experience to all and it is perfect to visit the OYESTERS during the hot summer of Delhi. Based on the season, couples can enjoy romantic moment doing rain dance, ice dance etc. To spice-up your outing, there are number of restaurants that offer mouth-watering delicacies.
Entrance should be made from gate number 4 with entrance ticket of Rs. 150 for an adult and Rs. 120 for children. If you want to pamper yourself with splash of water, Oyester will offer free dip up to a water level of 84 cm but charge you Rs. 250 per head if you want to move above the water level of 84 cms. Appu Ghar Remains open throughout the week from 1.30 PM-9.30 PM on weekdays and from noontime to 9.30 PM on Sunday.
