Institute of Cardio Vascular Diseases, popularly known as Madras Medical Mission is a renowned cardiac centre in the country which has extended its services even to International patients. With high-tech infrastructure and two state-of-the-art catheterization laboratories, this centre has performed more than 35,000 procedures till date.
The Cardiac Electrophysiology centre is rarest and busiest department that provides various diagnostic studies and radiofrequency ablative procedures in both adult and pediatric patients. With the availability and up-to-date knowledge of advanced techniques and technologies, Off Pump Coronary Artery Bypass has become an important and common means of surgical revascularization here and this department has performed more than 150 Ross operations in patients aged between 3 months to 70 years.
Apart from cardiac diseases, centre host various other health care facilities and most highlighted ones are Fetal Echo cardiology and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Centre gives free treatment to a member each year from SAARC countries and provides educational training to students from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Rajasthan.
